Telstar Communications, Inc.
Overview
December, 2004
Telstar Communications, Inc. is a locally owned and operated
communications company that has been in business for 20 years
specializing in conventional telephone systems from Comdial,
Voice over IP (VoIP) systems from Sphere and Interactive
Intelligence, and Call Center Systems from Interactive
Intelligence.
In 1984 Jerry Panzenhagen took an early retirement from AT&T to
form a new telephone interconnect company called Waupaca
Telephone. During the ensuing years Waupaca Telephone quickly
gained a reputation for honest dealings and reliable telephone
systems. In the mid 80s Jerry’s son Scott became involved with
the company and helped precipitate growth into the Fox River
Valley. During this growth period the company became a dealer
for Comdial Corporation and an Authorized distributer for
Ameritech, now known as SBC. Scott purchased the company from
his father in the early 90s, renamed it Telstar Communications,
Inc., and opened a branch office in Appleton. This period also
marked the beginning of Telstar’s entry into the Structured
Cabling Industry. Telstar became a Certified Installer for the
Siemon Company, allowing the company to install cabling systems
with 20 year Siemon Company extended warranties. In 1997,
Telstar became a Reseller Partner for Interactive Intelligence,
manufacturer of the Customer Interaction Center (CIC), an
all-in-one communications server performing the functions of
PBX, ACD, IVR, Unified Messaging, Screen Pops, CT, and Voice
over IP (VoIP). In 2001, Telstar became a Certified Channel
Partner for Sphere Communications, a VoIP PBX manufacturer, in
order to round out their communications offerings. Telstar
continues to explore new technologies in order to bring our
customers the best that the communications industry has to
offer.
This move to the cutting edge of technology resulted in changes
to the basic business model for Telstar. We now cross train our
technical staff in both telephony and data networking. A working
knowledge of network operating systems has also become very
important. We have had to become experts in communications
applications software licensing, hardware infrastructures that
will support the software, and professional services for
installation, customization, and ongoing support. We also have a
clear understanding that Project Management expertise is
essential.
Over the past five years we have also recognized the need to
establish business relationships with other professional service
organizations to increase our depth of resources. We have
established these relationships with several companies that can
be brought into a project on an as needed basis to accomplish
specialized programming, customization, installation and
maintenance in remote locations, training, and the like. There
will always be an ongoing process of locating appropriate
business partners.
Telstar Communications, Inc. holds a strong belief in long-term
mutually beneficial business relationships with its customers
and vendor partners. |
